History of Udaipur
Udaipur was founded in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh II as the capital of Mewar region. Maharana Udai Singh Ji established a residence in the new region. And the new place was named Udaipur. Being surrounded by the natural walls of Aravali hills it became difficult for the Mughals to travel to Udaipur with their huge army, horses and heavy armored forces. Thus the Udaipur remained protected from the influence of Mughals. Udaipur had been one of the old dynasties of the world.
